Cove Guardians Survive Earthquake and Tsunami
Yesterday a 8.9 earthquake shook Japans east coast. My friends Marley, Mike, Carisa and Tarah were in Otsuchi documenting the porpoise slaughter when the earthquake hit. After the earthquake this footage was taken and streamed live on Ustream. (Marley can be heard asking about the safety of the hill) Then minutes later a 23 foot tsunami hit and destroyed everything in its path.
All day I was at my computer waiting to hear from them. Contacting Marley's family and emailing Sea Shepherd to find out if any one had heard anything from them. Watching the news and reading the articles was putting knots in my stomach. I couldn't believe that this was happening to my friends and that I had just postponed my trip to Japan. My husband Martin keep reassuring me that my friends where fine. We sat down and meditated and envisioned our friends being fine. I described my vision to Martin and asked him to envision it as well. "Our friends are on the top of a hill looking down at the tsunami. They are fine and will be ok." This is exactly what happened.
My friends drove as high as they could and then hiked to higher ground. They spent the night on top of a hill watching the tsunami roll in taking everything with it. Everything was gone or unrecognizable. You can read about Marley's experience on Facebook here. Their food and water supplies are low and they are unable to travel yet. The redcross is on its way but there are still dangers. Nuclear meltdowns only 200km away, oil slicks and pollution all around. My friends need donations. Please help by donating on their blogs
